Current Position
Jimmy this year celebrates 10 years at the helm of Hill & Knowlton Singapore. He was appointed Managing Director in December 1999, and in March 2001, was promoted to Vice President, Asia Pacific and then to Senior Vice President for the region in January 2003. He was appointed Chief Executive, Southeast Asia in August 2005, overseeing Hill & Knowlton's Singapore, Malaysia and Thailand offices, as well as a network of associate offices in Indonesia, Vietnam and the Philippines.
Prior History
Jimmy has consulted with private and public sector clients and held senior in-house corporate, financial and marketing communications positions with major local and foreign listed companies. He began his public relations career in 1981 at the Los Angeles office of an international public relations consultancy.
Other Information
Under Jimmy's leadership, Hill & Knowlton's offices in Singapore, Bangkok and Kuala Lumpur were named Southeast Asia Consultancy of the Year by The Holmes Report in 2009.
During his tenure, the Singapore office has been voted the country's #1 public relations agency by senior client marketers polled by Marketing in its industry ranking in 2005, 2007 and 2008, and #2 in 2006 and 2009.
Jimmy was most recently named PR Agency Head of the Year at the Asia Pacific PR Awards 2009, marking a decade of achievements and service for the firm and the PR industry in Southeast Asia.
In June 2009, he was selected to represent Asia on the Cannes Lions jury panel for the inaugural PR category at the Cannes Lions International Advertising Festival.
In March 2006, Jimmy received the coveted PR Professional of the Year Award from the Institute of Public Relations of Singapore. In January 2007, he was named one of Singapore's Top 20 in the media and communications industry, the only PR professional to make it to the inaugural listing by Marketing.
He served as a member of the board of the Singapore Land Authority for two terms from 2004 to 2008. He was also a member of its HR Committee. He is currently serving his second two-year term as a member of the National Heritage Board and chairs its Media and Publicity Committee. He was appointed as an exco member of the board of the National Volunteer & Philanthropy Centre in 2008. In April 2009, he was elected to the council of the Singapore Institute of International Affairs, a non-governmental think-tank.
